A Tale of Neglect

Alright, excuse (no excuse) time:  I haven't posted in over three months.  BUT there is good reason!  I have been a very busy bunny, teaching and working and writing galore! (not to mention a bon vivant trip to Canada for a month somewhere in between).  My novel is finally taking shape and I find myself aching to be at home writing when I am doing something less than titilating, like shopping for socks or making small talk with strangers.  So, here's what you've missed:

I was shortlisted for the 2010 Impress Prize for New Writers!

Unfortunately (for them, ha!) I didn't win, but fortunately for me, that means I have much more time to finish my novel, so I am a happy bunny anyways.  As they say, it's an honour just to be nominated... blah blah, haha.

As well, last night I was part of a great event to close out this year's Dylan Thomas Festival in Swansea.  I and three other local poets gave some great readings, followed by a fantastic musical show by Adrian Glynn and Ben Rogers, of the Canadian band, The Fugitives.  Not only was it a treat for me to be among my countrymen, it was a tops night overall.  So those of you who chose to go to the postponed fireworks on Swansea Bay, you missed out on some oral fireworks!  (written down that sounds lame-o, but all of those performing agreed upon it being an awesome description last night...).
